Enterprise Systems & Integrations

4 studies

Enterprise HCM migration

Challenge

Payroll and HR ran across four aging legacy systems in a multi-entity enterprise, with no single source of truth and a high-stakes cutover ahead.

Role

Technical project management and QA across eight dependency-mapped workstreams, with data-template verification spanning two dozen HR and payroll templates.

Outcome

A structured migration into a modern cloud HCM platform, governed by a documented QA plan and reconciliation at each integration stream.

Payroll–to–GL & job-cost integration

Challenge

The full weekly payroll lifecycle had to move cleanly between HCM, finance, and job-cost systems — with pay adjustments, GL posting, and invoicing all reconciling.

Role

Integration design across the end-to-end flow, including XML pay-adjustment generation, GL posting, and source-to-target field mapping.

Outcome

An end-to-end, reconciled payroll-to-GL flow with audit controls that confirm both systems balance every cycle.

Multi-system data integrations

Challenge

Employee, tax, deduction, labor-metric, and organizational data had to synchronize accurately across HR, payroll, ERP, and job-cost systems.

Role

Integration requirements, field mapping, XML generation and validation, and audit controls ensuring exchanged transactions balanced.

Outcome

A documented set of validated integrations with balancing controls that made discrepancies visible and explainable at the record level.

ERP implementation — technical project management

Challenge

A new ERP had to go live with seven system integrations and a full reporting layer, coordinated across finance, operations, and vendor teams on a fixed timeline.

Role

End-to-end technical project management: integration design and sequencing across all seven interfaces, reporting requirements, environments, QA/UAT, and cutover coordination.

Outcome

A controlled go-live with all seven integrations and reporting validated and reconciled — dependencies mapped, risks managed, and the business carried through adoption.

Reporting & Operational Transformation

4 studies

Custom data platform & BI modernization

Challenge

Reporting was scattered across manual Access, Excel, and legacy tools that were slow to produce and impossible to trace to source.

Role

Defined a consolidated data platform (cloud ETL, curated layers) and a governed reporting portfolio across payroll, finance, job cost, and workforce.

Outcome

Legacy reports retired in favor of governed, automated dashboards — trusted, traceable, and fed from centralized data.

AP/AR & WIP reporting modernization

Challenge

Accounts payable/receivable and work-in-progress reporting depended on a legacy tool and heavy manual month-end effort.

Role

Rebuilt reporting on automated pipelines, centralized data, and a low-code entry app with monthly-close controls and approvals.

Outcome

Faster, governed close reporting that removed the single-tool and single-person dependencies month-end used to rely on.

Legacy CyberQuery decommissioning

Challenge

A large estate of aging CyberQuery (CQ) reports still ran AP, AR, payroll, and operational reporting — costly to maintain and blocking the move to modern BI.

Role

Led the decommissioning end to end: report inventory and prioritization, rebuild on governed pipelines and Power BI, validation against source, and a phased cutover.

Outcome

The entire legacy report estate retired and replaced with governed, automated reporting — CyberQuery fully decommissioned with no loss of coverage.

Divisional P&L with workforce-based cost allocation

Challenge

A multi-division services organization couldn't see true profitability by division — shared and overhead costs sat in a single pool, so no division's real cost-to-serve or margin was visible to leadership.

Role

Built a division-level profit-and-loss model that broke costs out by division and allocated shared costs across divisions using divisional workforce (headcount) as the allocation driver.

Outcome

A divisional P&L that exposed each division's real cost structure and margin, giving leadership a defensible basis for pricing, staffing, and cost decisions.

Product & Workflow Design

3 studies

Line-of-business apps replacing spreadsheets

Challenge

Core operations — invoicing, work-in-progress, PTO, and payroll adjustments — ran on manual spreadsheets, legacy Access, and undocumented know-how.

Role

Designed and delivered low-code applications with approvals, controls, and reporting, from discovery through rollout.

Outcome

Governed internal applications that standardized the work, made it auditable, and retired the workarounds they replaced.

Accounts payable invoicing app

Challenge

Invoices were built from a spreadsheet template that broke whenever invoice lines ran long — forcing rework on nearly every invoice — and there was no clear way to see the status of invoices in flight.

Role

Traced the rework to its root cause, redesigned the invoicing workflow around it, and automated the process with a custom AP dashboard, an invoice register, and a guided invoice creator.

Outcome

A dependable, automated invoicing process — invoices generate cleanly no matter how long the lines run, and status is visible at a glance from a single dashboard, retiring the rework and blind spots the spreadsheet caused.

AI-accelerated invoicing & AR platform

Challenge

A services organization needed a secure invoicing and accounts-receivable platform — single sign-on, branded invoices and statements, payment tracking, and email sent from a controlled mailbox — instead of stitching together third-party tools.

Role

Designed and built the full application end to end, using Claude for AI-assisted delivery — including building custom AI skills to drive the build workflow — across authentication, the data model, document generation, and email.

Outcome

A production invoicing/AR platform: SSO-gated with passwordless email, plus client dashboards, statements, payment tracking, and audit controls — delivered end to end and AI-accelerated.
