Business IQ's Jira apps are built to pass a security review before you even open a ticket: Forge-native, read-only, and with no external network calls. Here's exactly how your data is handled.
Built on Atlassian Forge
Our Jira apps are built on Atlassian Forge, Atlassian's own cloud app platform. The app runs on Atlassian's infrastructure, inside Atlassian's trust boundary — there is no separate server operated by Business IQ in the path of your data.
Zero data egress
The app makes no external network calls, and it declares no outbound network permission at all. Your Jira data and the maps you build are never transmitted to Business IQ or any third party, and there is no sub-processor to review. Everything the app does happens within Atlassian. The only copies that ever leave are files you choose to download yourself — the document export and the workspace backup — and the app doesn't send them anywhere.
Read-only access to Jira
The app never writes to Jira — not a ticket, not a field, not a component. It reads Jira under your own permissions, so it only sees issues you could already see, plus which Jira groups you're in (used to decide who may restore a backup).
Where your data is stored
The maps and configuration you create are stored in Forge's app storage, which lives inside your own Atlassian cloud environment and is governed by Atlassian's data residency and security controls. Business IQ does not keep a copy outside Atlassian.
Data retention and deletion
Because the app stores data in Atlassian's Forge hosted storage, data removal follows Atlassian's platform lifecycle: after you uninstall, Atlassian retains the app's stored data for 28 days and then deletes it. If you uninstalled by mistake, contact us promptly — Atlassian only allows a restore request within the first 21 days. To keep your own copy first, download a backup from the app's Settings page.
